Default How does sony do it???

I was wondering how sony reduces the mb size of their psx classics on psp.

when i converted tomb raider, it gave me a 412mb eboot file.

but sony's conversion from the psn store is only 211mb with a dat of instructions included.

so my question is, how do they compress theirs so much??

the only things i can think of is re-encoding the full motion videos into lower resolution, which takes up less space.

or the removal of a dummy file if there is one..

well seeings they have the scource code they can add or remove what ever from it and alter the type and size of the file. to tell ya teh truth, i think they clean up what they have on hand keeping the original and little by little modding it to be of proper size seeings we have the tech and knowledge to do it now (compared to back then where the idea of haveing a big game was depending on how many discs you had to use)

They are probably experimenting with more effective forms of compression.
