    Default 5.03 GEN A/B vs C

    What's upgraded from 5.03 Gen-AB to C? Since C(full) will reset back to 5.03 if rebooted and I know chances are it will because of some games. If ver A/B is good, I was gonna use Sedna so that if it reboot, it will not reset to 5.03.

    or for Gen C-full, if the game won't play, would decryptor patch work? I'm assuming not because the decrypt is already embeded in the ver C correct?

    Man, I was excited when I had a email notification while I was GOOGLING, yes GOOGLING. Only to find out, someone started a joke and the joke was on me.

    GEN-B:
    * Compatibility PSP-3000 and PSP-2000 v3 with official firmware 5.03 up
    * Play of PS1 games
    * Reading UMD / backup protected against a Custom Firmware
    * Reading UMD / PSP game backups and 5.55.
    * GEN VSH MENU available
    * Recovery in VSH revised version available

    GEN-C:
    * Compatibility with all known PSN Game/Démo from on 15/12/2009
    * Compatibility with all known UMD on 15/12/2009
    * Add ISO SPeed MS loading (Bêta version non really tested because we don't have any fake MS)
    * Network update

    I'm seriously not even lying when I say that those came from the first two or three Google search results.

    There are small differences between A, B, and C.
    It is mainly the Pegasus.prx in other words, the eboot decrypter that is used on newer games. The Pegasus file itself is located in flash 0, so it is dangerous to mess with it. Now, the Pegasus.prx used in 5.50 GEN-D3 and 5.03 GEN-C is different, but they both suffer the same problems. They both make some savedata look corrupt. They both make some games unplayable or glitch.

    That is the reason I am on 5.50 GEN-D2 and not on 5.50 GEN-D3.

    Thank you both.

    NY,
    I did search here with 5.03 ABC and none.
    I went to the downloading section where the 5.03 C was at, didn't say much.
    I search Google, way too much info and which one is the one i'm looking for. Maybe I didn't use the word COMPARE. Like other people, I come here for quick answer. Thanks for your info tho.

    I myself annoy by people who don't use the search button or Google

    Cheese,
    The reason I asked is because I mentioned earlier on a different thread, my 3000 brite won't play iso/cso. Get message that you usually get when it's encrypted..

    Typing "5.03 GEN-A changelog" will probably get results. You can then try 5.03 GEN-B Changelog and 5.03 GEN-C Changelog.

    A "change log" is a list of changes typically included with or released along side a new revision. Like the "change log" for 5.03 GEN-B would list all the changes made from GEN-A to GEN-B.

    Yup. It is usually posted with the release of the new firmware and is included with the readme you get when you download the firmware.
