I've seen the PSP "type D" connection driver prompt as well.

Around 5 years ago when i was on 1.50 OFW, for the game Metal Gear Acid.

There are many games that offer connectivity to PS2 or PS3 hardware (SOCOM 2, Resistance Retribution, Outrun 2006, Metal Gear Acid 1 & 2 to name a few).

When you are running these games when connected to a PC via USB, you'll get the "Windows needs to install driver software for your PSP type D" prompt, because your PSP is looking for PS3/PS2 hardware for connectivity, not your PC.

It's just Windows doing what it's supposed to do, when trying to communicate with a piece of hardware it doesn't recognize.

It is not a possible exploit, and never will be.

With that said, we have had enough of these "I may have found an exploit?" or "I think i found a possible exploit" threads.

Just leave it to the experts.
