Default PSP 3000 Faceplate on PSP 2000

Is it possible to put a PSP 3000 faceplate on a PSP 2000? I know I would have to get a new home / menu bar for the faceplate, but would the buttons work from the 2000? Thanks!

All of the buttons would have to be replaced to 3k ones. Except the triggers.

So I would only have to replace the buttons? Not any of the actual components of the PSP itself?

I tried it on my darth, wouldn't fit right. It was a grey 3000 faceplate and none of the start select volume buttons were pressable when i screwed it back on, apparently the faceplate is too different in proportion
