Default iso compression to cso, is it worth it?

when i compress iso to cso's, theres an average decrease of 10% space only, so suppose theres an iso of 1000mb, it becomes 900 mb when converted into a cso. plus, cso increaeses load times, so is it even worth it? like suppose u have a 4gb mmc, if u convert iso's worth 4gb to cso's, u get wat, 400 mb of free space, thats not even enough for one game..

or is it that im using a bad converter? atm i use psp iso compresssor v1.4 with compression level at 9 (the maximum).

It really depends on the game... With some games, u can reduce the size by 40-50%..

I compress most of my games to cso.. Recently converted a mini game. The ISO was 160 mb. After converting to cso, it was just 19mb.

U will probably have to try both option out.. for example, if u played before monster hunter, the load times between ISO and CSO, is quite a difference ...

I usually compress my games as my mem card isn't that big and I want to put on many games at once. I don't really notice the disbenefits of it.

Same here. Depends on the game.
I'm a lil' bit tidy with such things, so I've actually made a list with the file size of games I have, before and after compression.
For example, GTA Chinatown Wars was 905 Mb. When compressed with level 9 .cso, it goes down to 555 Mb, which is really something.
Or Crisis Core is originally 1.80 Gb, it goes down to 1.32Gb.
MX vs ATV Reflex goes down to 271 Mb from 907 Mb.
But Silent Hill Origins goes 745 Mb from 760 Mb. The compression's not worthy in that particular game, it seems.

There are also some very rare occasions where you can't boot the game at all when you have compressed it.
Most of the times "increased" loading times are not even noticeable.
But in games like Vice City Stories, you can just feel it

Your memory stick plays a big part on that too.
You're better off with a SanDisk one, or with a Sony High-Speed one.

What everyone here forgets to mention is that some games will either lag a lot as CSO's, mess up at some point without you being able to continue (constant freezing at certain point), or not run at all.

    There are two reasons I got a CR-5400 and 2 8gb MicroSD's:
    1. To not compress games.
    2. To have my whole music library. (4-5gb)
    16GB is perfect and roomy.
