Well, if you buy a new PSP 3000 or GO you will be guaranteed a non-hackable PSP. But you might get one with version 6.20. Unfortunately you can't check the firmware unless opening it and checking it yourself.

You should buy a used PSP 1000 to be sure its fully hackable.

If you don't want the hackable stuff and you want to focus on the GO or PSP 3000. I suggest the PSP 3000 since it has a UMD drive (It is like a CD Drive to play games that you buy) so you won't be depended on the internet. (The GO has no UMD Drive meaning you have to buy the games off the Playstation Network Store (its a virtual store like iTunes))

Then again, its just my suggestion

    EDIT: Where to buy

You can buy from Amazon, eBay, Craigslist, or any retailer store (Best Buy / Gamestop / etc)

Green means You don't have to be cautious
Yellow means you have to be semi-cautious
Red means you MUST be cautious (because of scammers)

    EDIT2: What accessories:

THE PSP GO and PSP 3000 have different accessories

-I recommend a extra battery to take full advantage of the PSP's portableness (The GO can't have a extra battery)
-I do also recommend a case (not plastic but something cotton material like) in-case it falls (PSP does break easily)

I decide to buy the PSP,and I saw it's much cheaper in online shop than in the mall...so may be I will buy it on ebay and buy the accessories on TOPONS
