Default Keep PSP2000 or buy PSP2?

    PSP2 looks sweet as.
But I don't know if it's worth buying it since I already have a PSP. Some things on my mind:
    1) Using my 8gb memory stick on the PSP2 - Compatible?
    2) If I can play UMD with PSP2?
    3) Can you or is it worth hacking the PSP2?

It depends on how much the NGP will come out. Let's wait for the end of 2011.

About those things on your mind:
    1) buy a micro SD and just use an adapter jsut to be safe. NGP's physical storage is larger than micro SD so there might be an adapter for it when it comes.
    2) No, it won't play UMD games as it doesn't have a UMD drive. It uses a flash based physical storage(something like the DS). But that doesn't mean you can't play PSP games with it. MHP 3rd is used as a demo on the event to show it can play PSP games.
    3) It is definitely worth hacking the NGP. Of course not unless Sony allowed homebrew to run on it without signing(IF that's the case, the only reason to hack the NGP is for piracy so it's not worth it).

EDIT: If the NGP can run PSP games, and we can run homebrew on OFW PSP, then.................

I would expect the NGP to use M2 memory card as it is the one the PSPgo uses and Sony is trying to cram their propitiatory bull crap down our throats like usual.

I will save in time to buy that NGP. Eventhough i already own a PSP2000, its well worth my money if i would be happy with the features.

but...if someone does manage to hack the NGP just like PSP3000, then i'll be happier. unless they do allow the homebrew to run on the NGP then, we'll see.

for now, work work, save save then buy that shiny new thing on the shelf.

NGP won't be hackable as it has new hardware and that means new keys. You will only be able to play DLC and it won't be transferrable.

I'd wait for it to be hacked first before investing.

im keepin my hopes up seeing that i do like the look of the new NGP not to mention that it holds potential features that are waiting to be exploited.

in any event that the NGP fails to deliver, i will spend my money to buy my daughter lots o' pretty stuff.

its win win for me. haha

iirc, the PSP was hacked before it was released outside japan(hence the first OFW in the us is 1.50). Let's hope they do hack it but release the hack after people all over the world has their NGPs. The NGP will have a physical storage, no not the UMD, but some new flash based storage just like the DS.

I beg to differ, the PSP TA-78/79 (FAT1.0, JAP only) was released with 1.00 firmware which allowed homebrew. The PSP wasn't hacked until the FAT 2.0 (TA-81/82) when they stopped homebrew at 1.50.
