Default little difference between Pro B2 and B3

okay so i updated to B3, and saw little update between the two version

I really thought that the new update would have a perma patch for pro since they developed one for TN-D, ironic how it was developed for someone else's hack but not their own.

From my understandings there is something in PRO that actually prevents this from happening. Although, it is probably being researched (or fixed) as we type. A perm patch for PRO (imo) could be done in a different manner than applying the HEN right into a file, but rather a loader patched in, and have the HEN loaded from a flashed PRX.

As soon as a Perm patch comes out for Pro (if it's possible), I'm installing it.

It can't be done for PRO.
Or, I should say, it can't be done for 6.35.
That's why he made it for TN-D.

Possible there's another way they can do it, as Coon suggested.
But, it'd probably take a while to find anything.

Especially since they are better at utilizing other people's exploits than discovering/developing their own.

Why not? What did Sony do that prevents this from being done to 6.35? And why is 6.37 Perm then?

VF said this in his blog post:
"I am afraid 6.3x kernel won't accept fake signature because extra signature checks are performed in the new ECDSA keys."

    And, I assume you're talking about neur0n's 6.37 ME.
It's a Custom Firmware. Same rules don't apply.
I don't have the rulebook, so I wouldn't know anything about it. XD

It's a full custom firmware. The rule is, it overwrites flash 0 with new files that make it a full CFW. It becomes the PSP's own firmware.

For a temporary CFW, when launched it writes some new files to flash 0 (never overwriting any pre-existing files as that would brick new PSPs) then it loads files into RAM that allow it to launch unsigned code, etc. A full CFW fully rewrites flash 0 to suit the firmware. It is fully unsigned code that requires a CFW or something that has full read/write access to flash 0 (such as the factory/recovery mode you get with a pandora battery).

Theoretically, all PSP's can install permanent CFW while in a hen. The problem is new PSP's have some form of check in them that if flash 0 files are overwritten, it will brick. The reason it bricks probably has to do with the fact that the update as a whole isn't signed. (That means the pre-ipl is not signed and hackers cannot sign it at this point. It has a longer encryption key than the one that is used to sign games).

That's the info I have gathered on CFW over the past 2 years of keeping up with the scene.
