[REQ] Some questions about the PSP before I buy one

I'm french and I do my best to be understood, but I can easily understand english so don't hesitate how to express yourself. lol

So, i'm going to buy a PSP but I want to know before if it's a 2.00 or 1.5 before, because if i buy a 1.52,1.53 or 2.50,2.60 I won't be able to play backup games (w*r*z)

So my first question is this one (I couldn't find a really good answer so I prefer to be sure before I buy the console):
Is it possible to play GTA LCS with a 2.00 and how to do this if it's possible to do?(gta lcs, I mean the backup of course, not the original one)

My second question is :
I read something about a web browser on 2.xx... how does it works? is it really free?what do I have to do to surf around the web with the console?is it possible with a 1.5 one?

My last question is :
Is it possible to play backups without a SD memory card by using the mini-usb cable instead of the umd emulator?


Well, sorry if you already answered a few response to some of this questions but I mean this topic is explicit enough for other members and people could understand more stuff about this great portable console.

1) No you cannot play the backup because there are no ISO loaders for 2.0 yet

2) Yes there is a web browser and you use the WiFi connection to connect it to a Wireless network. Atm there are only homebrew browsers for 1.5 (Wipeout Pure Standalone)

3) Atm it is not possible but there are some programmers out there trying.

u cant play gta backup cause it need fw 2 and still no loader for 2.00, but u can play the umd of course on 2.00,

if u buy a 1.51, 1.52 or 2.0 you can still downgrade to 1.5. and btw, there is no 1.53 :razz:

you can only play the original umd of gta atm. go buy a game.

and you can only play games of a memorystick or the datel 4gb hd. yes again..what a bummer.. you have to buy something.

are you sure about the downgrabe of a 1.51, 1.52 ??? any version ???


I saw a program to change virtually the version to play games. Does it work for GTA LCS?

No it does not work for GTA, or Socom, or a few others, sorry

ofcourse! the downgrade only works on 2.0, but you can upgrade your 1.51/52 to 2.0 first and then downgrade.
