If you are using dev hook, the UMD you have to have in your PSP. Must be a video UMD otherwise it will not work. For this situation I would really recommend the demo disk that comes with the PSP.

As far as a special loading method for SE-B I never tried to load a video ISO through that, so I really couldn't answer your question. But in the end, just use PMP, its a much better compressed video format, to save space on your memory card. And uses the full resolution of the PSP, just like your video ISO's.

I think he meant don't use a UMD movie disc in the tray. Try a game or the demo disc.

    The firmware is US.
If you try to play EUR or JAP movies, it won't work.
You can rebuild the DATA.DAXR with your local firmware and it may work.

I thought that region encoding for UMD movies was independent of firmware, would make a bit of a mockery of region encoding if all you had to do was flash to a different region's firmware to play their movies (although if you stuck to regular Sony firmware updates you would need to wait until they released an update before you could change region again). Its probably built into the UMD drive controller in a way similar to RPC2 protected PC DVD drives.
