i dont think many people realize how vital downgraders are to the homebrew scene. its simple really, to attract new people to the scene, they actually need to be able to take part in it. many games now come with fw requirements way above what the latest downgraders can handle. people unknowingly upgrade and when they want to run homebrew they learn that they cant. all of the experienced programmers out there should stop giving newbies such a hard time when they request a new downgrader, i realize that it can get annoying, but it is vital to the survival of the homebrew community. without new participants, it will die. there are plenty of apps out for 2.71 se c and i am tired of hearing about them. programmers should concentrate efforts on finding new and more effective exploits. its the only way we can stay on top of sony.

I think it is simple, why don't you create the next downgrader for others?
It takes along time to develop a downgrader...

it took only a few weeks to get the 2.71 downgrader up and running. the problem is finding the exploits.
edit: and next time, try quoting my entire sentence.

I think it wasn't long for 2.71 because a flaw was still there that the devs knew about and sony didn't.

Looks like you answered yourself there - it is very hard to find exploits.
Besides, people who upgraded - it's their fault, not the developers. And there's plenty of people who can run homebrew - the homebrew scene is not dying at all.

I don't need to quote the whole PARAGRAPH, cause I was only focusing on that small part.

i am not trying to place any blame on developers, i am just saying it might be a fine idea to redirect efforts to finding new exploits.

clearly you didnt understand what i was saying then. i meant that the concept of getting more people into the community is simple, not the development of new downgraders.

Yeah, I know.
But firstly, you really don't know how much effort is being placed into finding an exploit - all you hear is homebrew being released, but nobody can really say what has been done on the finding of an exploit, so you don't really know it's progress. Who knows - there may already be more devs looking at a downgrader than there are making homebrew - you never know.
-
So you mean, stop the dev on a psx emu and search for exploits? If thats the case, why would you want to downgrade if the devs aren't making anything except downgraders? So we can just upgrade and downgrade and on and on?
Well crap I want to play some new stuff, but booster is searching for a exploit and don't have time for a new devhook atm. owell the new downgrader released yesterday, so I can always upgrade and downgrade to 1.5 to burn some time.
