    Default Hacking PSP 3000 6.37

I have a psp 2001 and I'm going to get a PSP 3000 tonight. The PSP 3000 is on firmware 6.37, can I just let it upgrade to 6.60 and hack it from there ? I use ProUpdate on my 2001 with 6.60. Was wondering why there were so many guides for different versions.

Yes you can.. The only downside is, that 6.60 PRO on the PSP 3000 isn't permanent

The machine I purchased has me i a similar situation, but from what I have read you only need to 'flash recovery' the unit if it shuts down completely. Is this correct? And is it bad for the PSP?
