I can I jump straight to m33 firmware or do i need to use the custom firmware enabler, and which one

Flash that sucker with a full custom firmware!

Use hellcats to do so:
Hellcats Recovery Reflasher 1.60 - The download is at the bottom of the page.

And you also need The 500.pbp

Download both.

With hellcats unpack it and place the RECOVERY folder in X:\PSP\GAME (X being whatever your psp's drive letter is)

Place the 500.pbp directly on your memstick X:\

To review you will have X:\500.pbp (file) and X:\PSP\GAME\RECOVERY (folder)

With hen loaded:
Go to you game tab to find and run hellcats. Agree to it's warnings (if you do agree) and at it's main menu select to install cfw. It will ask you if you want to reset your settings. Select to do so.

Sit back as 5.00 m33 v6 is installed.
