PSP Phat won't turn on!!?
Urgent! Well I bought it off my mate, as he couldn't power it up so though it was a software issue. Guess I was wrong! I've tried MMS with pandora to no result. What happens is, when powered with battery or charger that the green light comes on for a couple of seconds, then it goes back off. I have tried it with a memory card in and the same thing happens? Any ideas welcome!!! thanks

Please try to provide more specific information. There's a number of things that could be going on here. Is the pandora set up working on another psp? How was the thing bricked in the first place? Was it bricked from software, or did it stop working after he dropped it or the like.
With the info you provided above, it could either be that you don't have the memstick set up correctly, or it's a hardware problem such a cable that got disconnect or the like.

The pandora setup works fine on another psp, tried that. I know it was on CFW but just decided to pack up one day. I don't think its software related as pandora would've got it going?

Yeah, if you know that pandora set up works on another psp ie: can confirm it auto powers on to the service menu, and it's not working on that fat psp, it's almost assured a hardware issue. Dropping the psp or the like can make cables disconnect and stuff like that.
Hardware fixes are a whole different story to track down. Wish you luck.

Are you holding the L button while inserting the pandora battery?
If not, do it.
Take out the power cord before inserting the pandora battery.
Insert the MMS before you insert the pandora.
You wouldn't believe how many people mess up on those steps.
If however that does not work for you, then remake your MMS. Here is a easy to follow guide:
