Default making a softmod pandora with 6.20 for fat-1001

hi, i am new to hacking and modding overall, and after looking at the sticky by BCMan, rule seven states

7-----Own a fat(psp1000) with any firmware version 5.03 and below.

i had upgraded the firmware before hearing about modding it, so my fat 1001 is now at the current 6.20. i already have a spare battery, is there any way i can make a pandora with the current firmware?

also if there is a preferred video walk through that you would recommend, feel free to share it

    thanks!!

unless u have access to another psp running cfw then u're only options are to hard mod your battery or buy a pandora

    - B. Hard modding your battery
    - C. Buying one

You have to have a PSP with custom firmware to make a Pandora battery and you need a Pandora battery to get custom firmware. You can buy a pandora battery from dealextreme for $6.10 with free shipping.

    Default Pandora not 'pandoraing'

im following the steps at this post

    http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/f133...9/#post1084298

ok, so i opened up my battery (eventually) and popped up the 4th pin, taped it up, and made a MMS. the guide says that the MMS and pandora battery should autoload or i should hold L while powering up, but even then it still loads normally.

the 'pandora' battery still charges, so i am wondering if there is something else i am supposed to do or if i didnt remove the pin enough, although i dont see how i could remove it any more as it goes straight up and has an obvious gap. any ideas?

Do you have the charger connected to the PSP while you do this?

    No.

You might have lifted the wrong pin or did not lift it enough and it is touch the motherboard still. Or you are not holding the L trigger while inserting the pandora.

    i got it to work!!

turns out, i did do the pandora battery right, but the MMS i used was the issue. i used MMS_Maker the first time and it didnt work.

i found this video and recommend it to anyone that has already has/made the pandora, it was easy to follow, and the only difficult part was waiting 45 sec for each of the 3 download files

a side note: before i followed this video, my pandora worked normally, will that no longer be the case? i heard that hard mod pandoras do not convert back or work normally, but mine did, is this a stroke of luck or a possible problem? it was a spare, so its not an urgent problem, just a curious thought.
