USB/PC Hosting on 5.50 GenD3

Hi Guys,

Just kind of got back into my PSP and have a question... I've had a look around and couldn't really find any concrete information, I used to use a program (USB Host I think it was called?) to play game backups directly off my PC through the USB connection...

I've got a PSP1000 and am currently running 5.50 GenD3 (upgraded the other day).

I saw some things about irShell (I think it was called) having this functionality but couldn't really find all that much clear information on it.

So yeah, any help would be mighty appreciated.

Oh, and one more thing. To play 1.50 homebrew I used to just put it in a GAME150 in ms0 of my PSP, would this still work on 5.50Gen or is there another method?

There is no 1.50 for GEN and never will be. Irshell can stream games via USB or Wifi but afaik the NetHost doesn't work on GEN fw, I don't know if USBHost works or not.

You should downgrade your PSP to 5.00-6 M33 for IRShell and install the 1.50 addon. GEN firmware is now just a crap version of M33.

So I would use Hellcat Flasher to downgrade, correct?
If I wanted to play more recent (i.e. >5.00) games on m33-6 I would have to patch them like in this (http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/f133...-5-55-t254152/) thread, right?

Or use the m33_620 plugin, and you don't have to patch anything. Downside is, it requires a pure iso and you can't compress it.

From what I gather for HostCore I would copy the 'hostcore.prx' and 'conf.txt' into the seplugins folder. Not too sure what to do from here... From what I've read something to do with a vsh or game .txt?

The USBHost .zip included on the download page just has a whole lot of .exes and not a whole lot of direction as to what to do...

Couldn't find any tutorials on the forums about this particular app...

Any guidance?

Ok...
I'm still on GenD3, I've got irShellv5.0 installed and working fine with the Gen enabler patch.
USB Host seems to be fine, I've got the exe and all the driver files in my ISO/CSO folder on my PC.
I run it, looks fine. Go to USB Host on irShell and it says 'Error : Can't connect to USB Host'. Damn... I read in another thread it could be because I have a 64 bit version of windows?
Sigh... Might have to settle for transferring ISOs on and off the MemStick whenever I want to switch games...

You also have to change some settings in iR Shell. Go into "iR Shell Configurator", and put in these settings:

Non-MS Media Access: Enable
Redirect APP View to Host: Enable
Redirect Keypad to Host: Via usbhost0 or nethost0
POP 2 Player Support: Disable (doesn't really matter, but disable it for now)
Display Redirect to PC via usbhost0: Enable

You should also try the USBHost for 64 Bit Windows. You can download it here. I hope that helps.
