Can I install promtheus with 5.50 Gen B Full?
or do i have to upgrade to a newer one?

No, if my memory serves me correctly, Prometheus for GEN only works with D2 and D3 firmwares only. Good luck!

what is the latest version of it right now i think i just installed a really old one and i dont think id be able to play valkyria chronicles 2

Yes, it takes roughly about 3-4 seconds to install. Prometheus is really a patch and not a firmware, so it doesn't take long to install. If you go into your Settings > System Information, you should see 5.50 Prometheus version displayed there.

Unfortunately that is the lastest public release. So, you will be able to play all games requiring 6.20 and below (maybe not really old games).
Just hope you can play valkyria chronicles 2 on it. If not, try Dual booting:

It allows the use of the lastest official firmware while you can boot into CFW.
Note: It requires a fully hackable PSP 1000 or 2000 and a Pandora's Battery as well as one or two memory sticks.
