Unhappy Downloaded PS1 Games Don't Work

    Hey all,
I recently downgraded my fat psp to 5.50 GEN-D3 and installed Prometheus 4 on it. Downloaded PSP games work, but when I tried to launch Crash Bandicoot from my memory stick, it gave me that "Do not use PSP when you're tired, blah blah blah..." and then I got a non responsive black screen, and soon, the PSP shut down. Also happened on another PS1 game. Does anyone know why, and how to fix this (no Popsloader! (yet)) These are all downloaded from PSN.

Also, when using Media Go, I try to transfer Crash 2, and it fives me error code 80048A51 and says "An error occurred during communication with the server."

Can anyone fix either of these without some sort of PSX launcher? Thank you in advance.

EDIT: Both of these games were on my 4GB memory stick. GEX 3 is on my 1GB MS and works. The two games tested were Crash Bandicoot 1 and Rally Cross.

Some games work, some don't. Try another iso from another source.

It could even be a popsloader (psx emulator) issue.

Are the downloaded games converted properly?? They should be EBOOTS' not ISO's? If so try downloading the poploader pack from this site and trying a different version.

GEX 3, which was on a different MS, worked, if that helps. Remember, these are official Sony EBOOTS.

Popsloader does not function on PSN PSOne EBOOT's.

Many PSN PSOne EBOOT's will not launch on 5.50 GEN, Crash Bandicoot being one of them.

Your only option to run the PSN version of the game would be to downgrade to 5.00 M33.

Okay, thank you . I'll downgrade right away.
Do you know of any functionalities that I would lose or gain by using 5.00 M33-7? (If you use M33-6, it's just a bug fix).

Your cxmb themes are gonna be lost (if you have any) but m33 functions just as well in any other way compared to gen.
Why does everyone ask if they can play pirated games on their unhackable psps?

Okay, I installed 5.00 M33-4 with Prometheus 3, and then it worked, and then it didn't.
I don't remember if it worked before or after I installed Prometheus.
I don't want to use Popsloader because then, I'd lose my saves.
    Any other suggestions?

EDIT: M33-6, no Prometheus yet, not working! Ugh!
ANOTHER EDIT: Fresh install, M33-4, it works.
    Add Prometheus, dead.

Any luck on the 2nd question?

    Default The Final Answer

Okay, for all the Noobs out there:

You have to use 5.00 M33-X to play PSN downloaded PSX games.
    • Don't install Prometheus, makes it not work.
    • 5.50 GEN-D3 also doesn't work.
