I'm using a PSP Go. 6.20 TN-D.
VSH Menu Settings:
CPU Clock: 333/166
Fake Region: Debug Type I
Skip Gameboot: Enabled
Spoof Version: Enabled
I don't think any of that has any affect, but that's it.
It has to be your ISO. It might be corrupted.
If you downloaded it, check the source for more info, or if anyone there has the same problem.
If you ripped it yourself, try ripping it again, using a different method.

I downloaded it. I've downloaded several that were "last edited" July 02, 2007 at 8:20 PM, and are always 636MB, except for one .CSO that was last edited October 27, 2007 at 7:21 PM and is 530MB CSO'ed and 591MB ISO'ed. NONE of these have functioned. Every single one has the same XMB icon as the one I showed you, and yet also just WILL NOT START. I'm extremely frustrated at this point, though very thankful for all the help you have given, lilmetal.

I've only got one more suggestion.
In the PSP's System Settings, disable "UMD Disc Cache" if it's on.
I'm just guessing random things now, because I have no idea at this point.
If that doesn't work, then you should try 6.35 PRO-B3.

attempting a download of another one, just to see if I get different results. Disc cache was always off, so yeah, I don't think that's the problem.

A clean (not edited in any way) European ISO of this game is 636 MB. I will get it and try to play it on my 6.20 TN-D (Permanent) PSP 3000. (I will try it with the Prometheus ISO loader with both drivers).
I do have a question, are you using an adapter for your memory stick? (I.e. The 2 micro SD to MS pro duo one?)
(3rd Birthday would not work for me when I used the Photofast 2x microSD to MS Pro Duo adapter when I was on 6.20 TN-B)
And:
Is your memory stick fake?
To find out if it is fake, on your PSP, go to one of the menus and press triangle on the memory stick, then select information.
One of things it will tell you is if MagicGate is supported or not. If it is not supported or unknown, then your stick (if it is not an adapter) is fake. (All adapters do not support magic gate, they are not "fake" and are ok)
If it says supported, then your ms is real.
Fake cards are iffy and sometimes do not work properly or at all.

Will answer this tomorrow, though THANK YOU SO MUCH for offering your help! As for me, I need sleep as it's past 1AM where I live.

Not a problem. I am guessing we are in the same timezone lol. Weekend, so I am staying up late. Haha.
Testing it with my adapter MS pro duo, one driver, np9660 got me to the loading screen, the other one got a black screen and rebooted.
Testing it with my Sandisk 2GB MS pro duo, on both drivers it froze on the loading screen.
Doesn't seem to work. The 2GB is a clean stick, all it has on it is the ISO, the 6.20 TN HEN and the permanent patch. No plugins or anything else, so this game probably does not run on this firmware...
Since I happen to have my fully hackable 2k with me, I will try it out on the 6.35 Pro-B3 CFW and let you know.
---EDIT---
It works on 6.35 Pro B3 perfectly. This though is using a PSP 2000 TA-085v1.
I may update my PSP 3000 since pro seems to be more compatible with stuff. I can always downgrade.
---EDIT2---
It works on B3 on my 3000.
(In my opinion, 6.35 Pro B3 is better, no need to deal with all of those iso loaders. It's all built in on this one.)

Strange, but it works perfectly on my PSP Go.
Unless the PSP model is also a variable when it comes to compatibility...?
I don't think it should be. Definitely strange...
This "short question" really has no simple answer.

Well, I'm up now, and Cheesetheif, I guess I'll just bite the bullet (not the one in your icon ...which is INSANE O_o) and upgrade to PRO B3. The part where you said "I can always downgrade" worries me. Isn't there a chance that downgrading could brick the PSP?
Either way, if everything from TN-D works *and* I no longer need ISO loaders *and* Tales of Eternia works, I guess my choice will be B3. I'll come back with an update to see if it worked. Oh, and HHGGGBKSFLLGGKK THANK YOU for letting me know that an unpatched Eur ISO is 636MB. That is going to save me SO MUCH TIME.
Also: yeah, I kinda realized that this "very short question" wasn't one when I realized we were on the 2nd page. Eheh.

Ok, so I installed PRO B3, which wasn't nearly as painful as I thought it would be, and I tried the 636MB ISO. It worked. That was great, but then I got into a battle, and the blown-up sprites were too much for my eyes to handle, as I remembered crisp sharp graphics from the PS1. I got motion sick during fighting. I decided to give the 3 disc eboot thing a few more tries. PSX2PSP gave me "corrupt files", so I used the very fickle impalerpsx. After waiting with what I thought was a frozen screen for a few minutes, it completed and gave me a 1.19GB eboot. I tried it, and wonder of wonders, it works!
I owe it all to the help that you, lilmetal, and you, Cheesetheif, gave me.
You have my deepest gratitude. Thank you!!
