ChickHEN for UK PSP1000 not working HELP!

Hi all,

DESPERATE! I am trying (100+ times so far) to get Chickhen R2 to work on my PSP 1000 and it WILL NOT WORK! Most guides are for the slim/2000/3000 models so could really do with advice from 1000 users please! Note also I am from the UK and believe the PSP is a UK model.

Have formatted mem stick and reset default settings and then set UMD/USB to off as per all the guides., installed OFW 5.03. Put the h.bin file in the root of memory card (official Sony MagicGate 1GB). Tried putting ChickHEN tiff in the picture file (only one tiff is provided for ‘PHAT’ PSP) OR in a file called ‘ChickHEN’ inside the picture file (neither seems to work).

I start up the PSP, go to photos/mem stick and have tried 1. Leaving it with the thumbnail showing only, 2. opening the thumbnail (which just shows the picture loading screen frozen and turns off after 10 secs), 3. Sometimes it freezes at the thumbnail stage before giving a preview and then turns off after about 10 secs, 4. playing a video and pressing home then going to photos/mem stick etc, 5. Scroll around the XMB as fast as I can before sneaking up on the ‘poto/mem stick’!! EVERYTHING!!!

On some videos I have watched of others doing this it looks like maybe they are pressing some other buttons maybe? And some guides say to use the ‘X’ button but this just acts as a ‘back’ button rather than activating a file (wondering if button layout/function varies in other countries maybe?

On the verge of giving up so PLEEEASE can someone help!! Reminder of what I have:

PSP1000
1GB Sony MagicGate Mem stick
ChickHEN R2 tiff and h.bin files
OFW 5.03 installed
USB/UMD are OFF
