    DVD Decrypter may be illegal in the states but is freely availabe in the UK check it out here http://www.dvddecrypter.org.uk/ .

    If this breaks any rules sorry and delete link please.

    edit: misread above post and yes google does work wonders especially if you use google from another country.

    No , it can be used in the US. I said it was illegal in some parts of Europe, (I think one of them was Ireland or Sweden, maybe i'm wrong :| )
    I'm thinking about rewriting the tutorial to include DVD Decrypter (or maybe replace DVD Ghost all together).

    Quick question:
    I have a movie that's at least 5GB, but I want to put it on my PSP. Will the conversion to MP4 decrease the file size?

    Filesize is solely dependent on quality settings.

    Answer: yes, so long as you don't select insane bitrates.

    I followed the tutorial to convert my DVD into an MP4 AVC video. Works great on my FAT PSP with M33 firmware, but when I try to use it on my wife's slim with OE firmware 3.71 it says unsupported format?

    I took the memory stick from one to the other. Works on the fat, not on the slim. WTF? Is the M33 firmware upgraded somehow?

    RPG Tony, thank you so much for your tut and download package! I probably went thru a half dozen PSP vid conversion programs looking for full screen support before I found out about 3GP_Converter. The only thing I could never get to work was the optional volume AVS script you suggested. Whenever I tried it I would get out-of-sync audio and it did not seem to increase the volume. I did a little research and hit on another solution. All you have to do is edit the Transcoding.ini file for 3GP_Converter and add the vol parameter to whichever conversion option you use. In my case this was "[Item19] AVC 480x272 768 kbps 1-pass" but you can add the parameter to any of the options. (Be sure to make a backup of the Transcoding.ini file first in case you screw up!)

    Here is a snip of the original command line in Trascoding.ini for the "AVC 480x272 768 1-pass" setting:

    -ar 48000 -ab 64 -f psp

    To increase the volume 300%, just add a vol parameter and value. The default is 256. Here is the edited snip of my command line:

    -ar 48000 -ab 64 -vol 768 -f psp

    As an option, I also updated the title so that the change is shown in the UI:

    [Item19]
    Title=AVC 480x272 768 kbps 1-pass 3x vol
    TitleE=AVC 480x272 768 kbps 1-pass 3x vol

    Hope this helps anyone else having trouble increasing the volume of their PSP movies.
