How to Install Custom Firmware Extender and New Time Machine Features.

Get it Here: Custom Fimware Extender 2.0

NOTE: If you don't want the Time Machine features skip down to step 4.

    1. First get the 1.5 Eboot, the 3.40 Eboot, and the 3.60.PSAR and place them in the ROOT of your memory stick as 150.PBP, 340.PBP, and 360.PSAR Also, place MSIPL.BIN in the root.

    2. Download Time Machine and place the "Time Machine" folder in the GAME folder on your PSP.

    3. Run it and select Install iplloader on PSP MS boot sector, and Install 1.50 with 3.40 hw modules <PHAT&SLIM>

NOTE: Do not install the other firmwares because the do not work with CFE 2.0.

    Here's a screenshot:

    4. Download CFE 2.0 and copy the contents of the “release” folder to the root of your memory stick. This will install the nessesary files to the Time Machine and Plugins

    Usage

    5. Go to the Recovery Menu and Enable the 3 plugins.

    6. Press NOTE and the VOL- to bring up the HELP SCREEN. This screen should tell you all the below info.

Here are the DEFAULT Key Presses:

NOTE: All Key Presses can be changed by editing the cfe.config file or using Red_Squirrel’s Time Machine Configurator-Download

NOTE: All this does is constantly take pictures of what’s on the screen. You will need to put them in an animator to get a video.

    CFE 2.0 Time Machine Usage

    8. Insert your Pandora Battery into you PSP.

    9. Press NOTE, LEFT when your PSP boots up. The PSP should reboot into the 1.5 and 3.40 Mix Up. If you reboot without the method in the next step to you will continue to boot into 1.5.

Previous Key Presses with Time Machine will not work. Steps 8 and 9 and the only ways to switch between firmwares. The loading time is great.

    1.50 + 3.40 Mix up Slim bug

There's a bug in the FW (not TM) that screws up PMF play. It's all in the readme. Other than that, great tutorial.

Also, rebooting to the nand FW from the mix up doesn't work due to a kernel bug.

However, the developer has noted a couple of bugs in the current version of the app. Because of some kernel issues, the NOTE, WLAN, VOL, SCREEN, and HOME keys cannot be used while running Time Machine Configurator. Fortunately, Red Squirrel mentions the possibility of future releases supporting these specific keys some day.
