keep the comments about datels coming guys
im very tempted to buy one as i hate not been able to try things
without a datel. i have 3 original sony ones of which 1 is a jap.
and any version of grader works with them all.

I'm new to hacking the PSP. I have one that won't read the UMD discs so I would like to hack it. It has 3.90 firmware on it and I gather that you need a pandora's battery kit to downgrade it. Where do you get the battery kit from? Is it something that you have to order online or can I buy it somewhere?. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thankz in advandz.

dirtyharry, im not sure on the rules about linking to business, so I wont, but google "DATEL Tool PSP Battery" or like ...BeAkEr... said check out ebay, u should have no dramas finding one.

viper81, thanks for the confirmation, ill try using my Slim DATEL on a slim PSP ASAP and see how I go, I still reckon its the DATEL or now maybe even the mem stick.

Just thought id add, once I put the DATEL in, the memstick light does not light up(power does), surely if the DATEL was doing its job the light would at least light up for a nanosecond or something!?!?
Also in XMB when i press triangle to see memstick info, it ONLY says: total space & space used, no reference to MagicGate(like it dont even say Magicgate) whatsoever, isnt it meant to?

Also, is any1 else's DATEL very loose when clamped into the PSP? Well mine dont even clamp in, im soo scared if I get it to work ill D/C the DATEL accidently while its updating, its that sensetive!!!

Hello all. I desperately need help. Currently I have a new psp slim piano black, vista operating system and a tool battery from dealextreme. I have tried psp grader lite versions 1 and 3, two different memory sticks and several diff. eboots from various places all to no avail. I am at my wits end. My light comes up green, but nothing shows up on my screen (yes I press the left shoulder trigger as I put in my battery). I read somewhere that psp slims (piano black) only works as a blind install (nothing shows up on screen), but that also does nothing for me.

What can I do? Please help. I purchased this psp for homebrew and I am going nuts here. Thanks for listening.

My PSP is a slim piano black, I have Vista and I done mine first time using version 1 but I used a pandora battery

Where's your PSP from? What country? What FW is it on? Thnx, we'll try and fix you up
