Oh, I didn't think of that Argeoff. Good point. Does anyone know the lowest firmware version the 5.50 GEN installer works on?

And I didn't originally have the part about the unhackable PSPs but bestyugiman thought I should add it in.

i think 5.03. as you can use chickhen installer.

or something that can use hellcats recovery flasher. such as 1.50. i am not quite sure but i think it is the lowest you can go.

this guide is very well done.

Very effective. This has fixed a problem that I ran around for several days trying to fix.

My only problem (as I am VERY new to any of this) was getting what model number was. (Maybe add a small note on how to get it? For us newbs? XD)

Thanks so much HELLCAT, you saved my PSP. ; D

Good idea, I added this: To see which model your PSP is you will need to look at the sticker on the bottom of the PSP (there's a barcode) or on the sticker under your battery

Per best, 4.01 M33 is the lowest. Anything lower then u'll get a blank screen.

I Don't seem to be able to get this method to work.

    I'm running CFW 5.5 on a PSP-1000 trying to update to 6.30

The updater software starts to load then the PSP just restarts itself. Any Ideas?

Right now there is no way to downgrade a PSP with a firmware higher than 5.03 if you don't have a pandora battery.

Check back around December, there might be a new way to downgrade without a Pandora battery by then. http://www.psp-hacks.com/2010/10/23/...more-homebrew/

I still don't see why anyone would want to go from custom to official. Either way, nice guide. Again...
