Default How to patch 6.20 games to work on 5.03 Gen, M33, and 5.50 Gen D3

So you want to play a new psp game but it keeps prompting for a System update? Well look no further your problems shall be solved following this handy tutorial.

*~* Note I have tested this and works *~*

    Requirements:

    Custom Firmware
An ISO of a PSP game and/or a UMD game disc

    First download these files:
    Isotool v1.960
    http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1931

    UMDGen
    http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/948

After you have downloaded the 2 files above and extracted them both you will now be ready to start patching your ISO.

*~*Use UMDGen if your PSP game is not an ISO file and Choose file Save As uncompressed (xISO). *~*

Now you will need to connect your PSP to the Computer to do this go to settings/Usb Connection once it connects to the computer make a folder called ISO as shown in the picture. This is where you will be placing all of your ISO and CSO games.

Now Place the Isotool in the PSP/GAME folder you can now Disconnect the PSP from the Computer as the next part will be carried out on the PSP.

On your PSP go to GAME and scroll down to Memory Stick Press X and Choose Isotool you will be greeted by a black screen as shown in the picture.

Cursor down to your ISO FILE And press X to bring up the ISO menu and choose EBOOT Decrypt by pressing X. it will then ask if you want to back up the ISO choose No and press X. it will then ask is you want to enable the version patch choose yes and press X. Now it will ask do you want to start choose yes and wait for it to finish patching.

Now you will have cursor down to the ISO again. Press X and it will bring up the ISO menu choose patch and press X. Finally choose Prometheus and press X and choose yes press X.

Press home and exit to the XMB. You can now play your game.

*~* If you are on 5.50 gen- D3 and trying to run Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker you will need to do this Final Step. *~*

    Download this file
    http://www.mediafire.com/?w1yjajmykjy

Extract the contents of the RAR file.
Copy both MGSFIX and MGSNever to PSP/GAME folder.
Run “MGSPW D3 Fix when you want to play Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker.
When you’re finished and want to revert back to using peagasus.prx From Gen D3 Run MGSNever.

    Good guide.
When you’re finished and want to revert back to using Prometheus.prx pegasus.prx From Gen D3 Run MGSNever.
    Not prometheus.prx, it's pegasus.prx

    It's peagasus.prx, not pegasus.prx - Admin
Note : All my guides are outdated.

6.20 games run natively on my PSP with the CFW I use. Just thought I'd share that.

    looks remarkably similar to

Download 5.50 GEN D3 time machine

    Instructions
    1. Extract contents of rar file
    2. Copy both MGSFIX and MGSNever to PSP/GAME
    3. Run "MGSPW D3 Fix" when you want to play (this will load in peagusus.prx from GEN D2)
    4. When u're finished and u want to revert back to using peagusus.prx from GEN D3 then run MGSPW Never

Question, I recently ran the game categories plugin. Now when I try to use ISOtool it says dir unimplemented. Any idea what I did wrong?

Edit: Nevermind, I patched it before I moved it into my CAT_PSP folder and it worked fine. However, my SNES emulator does not see any of my roms using game categories.

you need to make a folder called roms on the root of memory stick.

the root of memory stick is the screen you get when you connect the psp to the computer. and place the roms inside it.

Because you originally had the SNES emulator folder in the GAME folder.

When you move the SNES emulator folder into a new CAT folder, the configuration file (s9xTYL.ini) still points to the GAME folder.

Delete s9xTYL.ini in the emulator folder and run the emulator again to create a new ini file, so it will point to the new CAT directory you created for the emulator.
