    Default Mini Projector for PSP

    hi ,
3 years ago i read about lenses in school's physics book . according to that if an object is placed between a lens' F and 2F its picture will be magnified and projected on the other side of the lens, outside 2F' .
also if an object is on a lens' 2F ,its picture will be projected on 2F' with the actual size
im not making any sense ? take a look at these pictures :
    1
    2

    needed objects :
    -a magnifier
-a psp (hackable is more prefered)
    -3,4 A4 papers
    -thumbtack
-something to hold the lens vertical
    ... ?!!?

you either have to know the lens' F (which you don't) or try adjusting it manually which is way easier

turn off the lights ,close the curtains if yoy have a window
take out the magnifier's lens , place it on the thing you found/made for it, put the A4 papers together and tack them to the wall at prefered height
now turn on your psp and place it at the back of the lens, against the wall . adjust it by moving the psp or lens horizontaly untill you get a clear image

the image on the wall is both inverse and converse so you have to fix it like this :
-turn the psp upsidedown , now it converse
-find Tweak Display plugin in psp-hacks downloads , download and activate it . in the XMB press triangle + volume up untill its set to Full Mirror
    now its should be straight

thats why i said a hacked psp is prefered . this "little projector" can only be used to watch movies since you can't move it . if your psp can't be hack'd you can still enjoy it by just turning the psp upsidedown
some times i don't even use TweakDisplay and watch a movie again, it looks kinda new

    Tips:
-the papers, psp and the lens must be at the same height (probably on your desk)
-the lens should be absoloutly vertical , if not the projection will be blur
-if you place the lens further from the wall, the image gets bigger . ofcourse you have to increase the psp' distance with lens again to get a clear image.
-the darker the room is , the better picture you get. if you can build a box for it so the lcd's white light doesn't light up the room.
-this is not just for psp, its for any device that can play a movie and has a mirror effect (some media players do)
-the image has to be projected on a white surface (not glossy) so it doesnt have to be some A4 paper on the wall , it can be anyhing/anywhere.
-the level of magnification is counted like this : m = q/p , q=lens' distance from the image(wall) p=len' distance form the object(psp)
    my lens : radius : 5cm , thickness(center): 7.5mm

sorry i didnt add any screen shots , projection wasnt bright enough for my phone' camera

    enjoy

    a picture of my setup

I really like that idea. I'd love to try it. I can't see your diagrams though.

Also a picture of your set up, even if we can't see the projected picture, would be appreciated.

somehow I doubt anyone would be arsed making a lens for their PSP. Especially seeing that you can't adjust focus, especially seeing as TV OUT was implemented to the 2000/3000 series.

Nice if you have no life and no legs but otherwise, a waste of time and effort.

This reminds me of that very old attachment for the Gameboy Color. It goes on top of the screen and magnifies it to about 1.5x

    Good old days.

Though your idea was clever. Physics ;D
