Ultimate Guide to Install 6.XX PRO CFW for all PSP models

This tutorial covers installing the latest 6.XX PRO series custom firmware for all PSP models. I have tried to include all firmware/psp model combinations to help you decide which path to follow.


Requirement

- Any PSP in working condition
- Motherboard version in case you have a PSP 2000
- Module number in case you have a PSP 3000

Identify the motherboard for PSP 2000

The motherboard can be identified on all HENs/CFWs using an app called PSPIdent, but for the sake of consistency lets use 6.39 PRO B-8 and PSPIdent to identify the motherboard.

1. Download OFW 6.39 - http://psp.dashhacks.com/file/2095
2. Extract the file
3. Copy EBOOT.PBP to PSP/GAME/UPDATE/
4. From the xmb (main psp menu) run the update from Game – Memory Stick
5. Now you are on OFW 6.39
6. Download 6.39 PRO B-8 - http://forums.dashhacks.com/f118/l-c...icial-t298905/
7. Extract the file
8. Copy PROUPDATE and FastRecovery to PSP/GAME/
9. From the xmb (main psp menu) run the PROUPDATE from Game - Memory stick.
10. Press X to install CFW
11. Download PSPident - http://psp.dashhacks.com/file/1725
12. Extract the file
13. Copy PSPIDENT folder to PSP/GAME/
14. From the xmb (main psp menu) run PSPIDENT
15. Make note of the motherboard model and follow the appropriate guide to install CFW

PSP 1000 – Install 6.60 PRO B-9

• If Official Firmware is below 6.60

2. Extract the file
3. Copy EBOOT.PBP to PSP/GAME/UPDATE/
4. From the xmb (main psp menu) run the update from Game – Memory Stick
5. Now you are on OFW 6.60
6. Download 6.60 PRO B-9 - http://psp.dashhacks.com/file/2123
7. Extract the file
8. Copy PROUPDATE and CIPL Flasher folders to PSP/GAME/
9. From the xmb (main psp menu) run the PROUPDATE from Game - Memory stick.
10. Press X to install CFW
11. From the xmb (main psp menu) run the CIPL Flasher from Game - Memory stick.
12. You have successfully installed 6.60 PRO B-9

• If Official Firmware is 6.60

• If Upgrading from any M33 Custom Firmware

• If Upgrading from 5.50 GEN or 5.50 Prometheus 4

1. Open VSH menu by clicking on the Select button from xmb(main psp menu)
2. Change USB device to Flash0
3. Connect your psp to pc
4. Navigate to \vsh\etc\
5. Open version.txt using notepad or wordpad
6. In the first line change the 9.90 to 5.50 and save.
7. Disconnect your psp from the pc and change the USB device back to Memory stick in vsh menu
8. Download OFW 6.60 - http://psp.dashhacks.com/file/2119
9. Extract the file
10. Copy EBOOT.PBP to PSP/GAME/UPDATE/
11. From the xmb (main psp menu) run the update from Game – Memory Stick
12. Now you are on OFW 6.60
13. Download 6.60 PRO B-9 - http://psp.dashhacks.com/file/2123
14. Extract the file
15. Copy PROUPDATE and CIPL Flasher folders to PSP/GAME/
16. From the xmb (main psp menu) run the PROUPDATE from Game - Memory stick.
17. Press X to install CFW
18. From the xmb (main psp menu) run the CIPL Flasher from Game - Memory stick.
19. You have successfully installed 6.60 PRO B-9

PSP 2000 (Non TA-088V3 motherboard) - Install 6.60 PRO B-9

• If Official Firmware is below 6.60

WHen I was running M33-6, I could run homebrew and backups.

After upgrading to 3.69 Pro-B 8 I cannot play anything. I can't even deactivate my Pandoras's Battery. So now it is a useless battery...

Any fix?

Auto-Merge: one of my PSP Phats are at 6.39 LCFW and the other phat has used the CIPL and neither work.

I used both M33 and Inferno drivers. Any help???

You will have to get newer versions of the homebrew that you are using.. Some 5.XX homebrew may not work on 6.XX cfw. Get them from here:

Depends on your psp model.

PSP 1000s and older models of psp 2000s have permanent patch(cipl flasher)

Others dont.
