There should be more gameboots made specifically for emulators. Like a couple nes videos compiled together for NesterJ or a couple snes videos compiled together for SNES9x emulator, and mabye some others for some other emulators and applications, it would make the psp that much cooler.. im still working on the general part of my homebrewed psp, so im not going to try to make any gameboots as of yet, but i think i might give it a try.

You can only install one game boot to PSP at a time. A nintendo or sega themed gameboot would be good.

No, You have one gameboot.pmf on one firmware at a time. You can use Xflash to copy a gameboot to your PSP nand chip for 1.5. Or you can copy a gameboot.pmf to the flash0 folder of the firmware you want to emulate with devhook, ie: dh\271\flash0\vsh\resource.

you can make custom eboot vids using the psp unpacker i think its called and the same files you use to make gameboot pmf's just load them into the eboots using the unpacker tool

Hell yeah...This is what I've been waiting for. Could someone make a eboot.pmf for the NEOGEOCD of Metal Slug 2? That would be the shizznit. Thanks in advance.

well i had a crack at it and i FINALLY made the umd composer output a valid and playable icon1.pmf file :D this means you do not need to encode at 480x272 (which causes slowdowns when previewing the icon on the psp).

what you need to do is to make your source icon file the same way as you would with a gameboot (yes the rez should be 480x272). then when you launch the composer and have loaded your file then go into the filter settings and click on the resize setting. resize to 144x80 for an icon. encode as usual :) btw there is a 500kb limit on an icon so i suggest you lower the bitrates by going the the video and audio settings. and also the audio does not need to be encoded seperatly! the psp will play the audio from the pmf :)

here is a proof of concept with dgen 1.70

i know the icon is kinda crap but it works! lol.

i just wanted to clear that up :)

Darkstone, I've used it on my DGen, but I've noticed if you have a SND0 in the eboot the sound from the pmf goes, But it's cool, Cuz mine says SEGA! then the pmf plays. :D

Cool. Would anybody be kind enough to consider making a Metal Slug 2 icon for the NeoGeo CD? Thanks in advance. You guys are the best!
