    Default Help Threads Template

I have a suggestion to make, to change the way help threads are created (inspired on this a bit)

Is it possible to modify the New Thread template when posting in the help section?

Maybe add some dropdowns like this:
Spoiler for New Thread on Help:

and the filling of those dropdowns would result in a template like this when posting the thread:

Spoiler for How It Would Look When Posted:

It would be cool if each dropdown looked like this:

    Spoiler for PSP Type (Model):

    Spoiler for Firmware Version:

    Spoiler for Memory Stick Capacity:

    Spoiler for Memory Stick Brand:

    Spoiler for Failure Test:

If they are left blank, the sentence referring to that on the template when posted would just not show up, if they are all left blank nothing should change from the way its showing now, if the idea is not clear enough let me know.

Obviously feel free to add or remove options if this is implemented, and maybe hear the suggestions of the people who helps @ the help section.

I know it might be too much work to modify this and there are probably other priorities, but I just thought this might be a good idea.

I'm bored and anything seems like a good excuse not to pick up my study books right now, lol.

    Thanks.

Hey, that's a really good idea! If it isn't too hard to implement, this would be a really great addition to the Help section. Would definitely make helping people much easier.

    Great idea.

On the other hand, it's really up to the poster to provide the correct information. If they lack the capability to provide all the necessary information, they also probably lack the ability to describe their issue even with this system in place.

I think that new people just need a little guidance on how to post, this might provide some structure for the help posts, and worse case scenario, if what I thought is possible but they don't use it, the posts will remain the same, with the exception of those who have the brains to figure out the dropdown menus.

Maybe some text can be added, like "to make the helping process easier and faster, please select your options from these menus" or something along those lines.

It would be funny if instead of "(Blank)" it was "(I'm too stupid to fill this in)"

Certainly very encouraging if I don't actually have a PSP and I'm simply querying about buying one.

yeah, but they can just skip them, this is something they can miss but it is there at the moment of posting, plus if 4 out of 10 people use this its an improvement already, I do appreciate u taking the time to discuss this zinga (and the rest of the guys too).

Any other inputs from the staff?

    you could
    add something like
is MagicGate is (note: 32gb adapter may give Unknown) (step to find it)
and in the dropdown you have
    (blank)
    Support
    Unknown

    PSP 1.5 got on USA first day is was 1.5 NOW 4.01 M33-2 -> 5.00 M33-6(1.50 addon),
    Old PS3s: PS3 60GB FW:3.41(2nd ps3 YLoD, 1st, YLoD)
    New PS3:
    Slim 160gb 01-21-2011 Working
    was 3.40 OFW->3.60 OFW

    2nd PSP : PHAT 5.50 GEN-D2
    3rd PSP : Sliver 3000 Starting OFW:4.20 (NEW bought NEW on 11/28/2010)
It a good idea to have "Hide extensions for known file types" in Folder Options(under Tool) unchecked (turn on extensions)
