OMG I have tried so many times I'm ready to slam my head against a wall.

    I have:

    1. XP Media Center Edition
    2. Configured Windows Firewall as well as Norton Internet Security 2006
    3. Setup the 360 to the screen after the code was given and left it there.
    4. Run Media Ctr Extender Manager and keep getting the same message "Enable Firewall Ports. A firewall has been detected: Norton Internet Security 2006". But I have opened all the ports (in Windows Firewall, don't think u can do this in Norton?).

Neither the XBOX nor the PC can see each other.

I am connected to XBOX live. The internet connection is working.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks!
    BU

There are a few things you can try, the first time I tried this, it took months to work out:). If you disable Norton and your firewall temporarily, your 360 and PC should connect. If it still doesn't, you could call MS for some help ;).

    Hi
I already tried shutting down Norton for 5 minutes or so but nothing. How do you shut the thing down completely?

    Any other ideas?

Am I using the right software (media extender manager) for my OS? (Windows XP Media Ctr Edition Version 2002 SP 2)

    Thanks

The firewall setting with WinXP is integrated with whatever Anti Virus firewall you have, you can't run two firewalls at the same time. Dissabling the firewall in the security center should at least get you connected. Still, with XB360 now, you do not need WinXP MCE to connect anymore, you only need Windows Media Player 11beta. I Have WinXP, and that is what I have installed. Works for both XB and XB360 for streaming, video too.
