    Hi guys,

    I have a Samsung-Toshiba MS-28 Drive in my 360.

I have a couple of problems... When standing the console up the drive doesnt eject.. but it does when it lays down.

I have attempted to take it out of the console to replace it but i accidently broke the Sata port when taking the cable out... and the little ¬ shaped part inside the SATA connection of the drive snapped out and is in the end of the sata cable...

since this, when i attempt to connect the drive to the pc to flash it or get the DVD key from it I cant as a sata cable wont connect to the socket...

my question is.. if i buy a replacement drive and then swap the PCB from my existing drive and put it into the new drive will it work straight off the bat? am i correct in thinking the DVD key is stored within the chip on the PCB? so the drive should just instantly work if i swap them around?

obviously I have to buy the Exact same model drive...

    Many thanks in advance,

Yes as long as the drives are the same model. And of course the SATA port isn't on the board. It's been a while since I've seen an xbox drive so I can't remember.
